NGO “All-Ukrainian Organization “Green Fund. Recovery from Humanitarian and Environmental Disasters” is a non-governmental organization that unites the efforts of lawyers, ecologists, journalists, scientists with an active social position to protect the environmental rights of the Ukrainian citizens.

For everyone whose environmental rights need to be protected, there are 14 offices of the Funds operating in different regions of Ukraine.

Our activities include:

  • Monitoring and identification of regional and local environmental problems, accidents that emerge in result of the operation of enterprises, which pollute the environment,
  • Development of programs to resolve the faced environmental problems and to eliminate the negative consequences.

The priority area of the Fund’s activities is providing a legal support of the citizens who suffered from the environmental disasters. We are the pioneering organization that implements the practice of class actions to protect the violated environmental rights in Ukraine.

The reasons of most of environmental disasters is a violation of environmental standards by the enterprises during their operation and the impunity for the pollution of the environment. The “polluter pays” principle, which is the basis for the environmental legislation of the democratic countries, shall be implemented in Ukraine.

We cooperate with law firms and attorneys firms (e.g. ETERNA LAW, PAX AND LEX LEGAL & CONSULTING AGENCY) to engage them into different environmental projects to provide a legal support pro bono.

We draw attention to the environmental issues by participating actively in scientific and practical workshops and conferences related to the ecology including as co-speakers.

We study the individual cases of violating the environmental legislation with the following pollutants.

If the environmental legislation is violated, we shall demand the indemnification of damages caused to the population and bring the guilty parties to justice.
